In Phase 1's mirror mechanic, the boss copies your movements with a slight delay. Move strategically to position the boss away from tile spawn points, then quickly collect tiles when they appear. Don't move erratically - use deliberate positioning to control where the boss goes while keeping escape routes open.
Hard mode adds a devastating 4th phase to the boss fight that significantly increases difficulty. You unlock it by beating the normal 3-phase boss battle. The 4th phase introduces new attack patterns and mechanics that require mastery of all previous phases to survive.
No, Just One Boss is a PICO-8 game designed specifically for keyboard controls using arrow keys only. It doesn't have mobile touch controls and is meant to be played on desktop browsers with a physical keyboard for the best experience.
The normal mode has 3 distinct phases: Phase 1 with mirror mechanics, Phase 2 magician phase with new attacks, and Phase 3 doubling phase with increased complexity. Hard mode unlocks a 4th phase after you beat normal mode, making it even more challenging.
